ABOUT REBECCA CURTIS

ABOUT

REBECCA CURTIS

Rebecca started riding when she was four, eventually progressing into showjumping and rode at international level for the Welsh junior team. Her first job in racing was just 10 miles down the road with Peter Bowen. She then went to America where she worked for Richard Mandela and Dan Hendricks.

On returning to Wales, Rebecca began training on her father’s dairy farm and trained her first winner in 2008 with Mango Catcher. She went on to train eight winners in her first real season in 2008/09 and built on that again when sending out 25 winners the following season.

Her success has attracted the patronage of one of the big names in jump racing, JP McManus and with that comes the services of Tony McCoy, who is often on the Curtis horses not owned by his principal employer.

Rebecca has developed a strong reputation in sourcing young untouched individuals and developing them into the finished article. She has brought a lot of nice young horses into the yard, which has been seen to great effect on the racecourse.

Rebecca’s rise as a trainer in such a short space of time is testament to her hard work, dedication and natural ability. If you are interested in having a horse in training, then we would be delighted to show you around Fforest Farm.

Rebecca, so far, has trained five Cheltenham Festival winners with Teaforthree, At Fishers Cross, O’Faolain’s Boy, Irish Cavalier, Lisnagar Oscar and 2018 Scottish Grand National winner Joe Farrell.

Please feel free to contact Rebecca on 01348 811303.
